Study Team

The study is directed by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Transportation, Office of Transportation Planning on behalf of MassHighway, with assistance from a consultant team headed by TranSystems, a large engineering firm that brings national expertise in transit planning and engineering, highway and structural planning and engineering. Other consultant firms working on the study are: Fitzgerald & Halliday, Inc., FXM Associates and TrafInfo Communications, Inc.

TranSystems Corporation

TranSystems Corporation (TSC) is the Prime Consultant and is leading every aspect of the Route 110/113 Rotary Interchange Study.  TranSystems' Project Manager is Mr. George Gefrich, a 30 year veteran in transportation and economic development in both public and private service.  TranSystems will specifically lead transportation and transit planning, highway and structural engineering and Intelligent Transportation Systems.

FHI
Fitzgerald & Halliday (FHI) is developing the Public Involvement Plan for this project, leading traffic engineering and assisting in developing viable project alternatives.  FHI is working closely with TranSystems in the review of environmental constraints and pre-screening of alternatives for constructability.
FXM logo FXM Associates (FXM) is assessing land use and socio-economic considerations in the project area and relating the project's alternatives to economic development and secondary and cumulative impacts.  FXM's work will also include considerations for environmental justice and Right-of-Way (ROW) acquisitions.
TrafInfo logo TrafInfo is working with TranSystems on traffic modeling for assessment of existing conditions and potential alternative and developing the potential use of ITS systems such as Dynamic Message Signing.  TrafInfo will also review accident data and assess now potential alternatives may reduce traffic conflicts and accidents.
